The Vogels met Lucio Pozzi in 1971 at the artist-run 55 Mercer Gallery. As their relationship grew, the couple visited Pozzi’s studio at least once a month, eventually acquiring over four hundred of his works. For Pozzi, the physical, emotional, and psychological process that goes into the creation of the work of art holds equal importance to the final product.
