Diamond

Sculpture: Corrugated plastic
16 1/2 x 16 1/4 x 11 in.
Date: 1991

Steve Keister uses brown corrugated plastic to create Diamond, a three-dimensional polygon suspended from the ceiling. Its overall shape seems in flux, as the interior and exterior planes are hard to distinguish from a single vantage point. Depending on the angle from which it is viewed, the sculptureā€™s subtle, dynamic form appears to be in varying stages of completion, giving vitality to a static object.
