For Art and Water - 2

Born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1943, Edda Renouf studied at Academie Julian in Paris and relocated to New York City in the early 1960’s where she studied at Sarah Lawrence College and went on to pursue an MFA at Colombia University, studying under abstract expressionist painter, Richard Pousette-Dart.1 Renouf’s works are influenced by science and mathematics as well as what she terms “organic randomness” which is expressed in her textural surface applications.2
